There were seven puppies in this litter, five boys and two girls, from Ch. Foxfair Silent Screen Star, and

Congratulations to: Heather Myers, Killington, CT, Jeanne Buente, Mt. Sterling, Ohio, Judy Eliot, Calgary, CN, Ann Miller, Fairfax, Va and Allison Janney, Richmond, Va. who all have little boys. And congratulations to Mary Gagnon of Maine, who has a little girl. Puppy girl in the far right basket is staying here.

Their party was lots of fun, more pics on that later!

Lillian and Essex Puppies

Keeshond Puppies Are Fun

Well at least they have fun with each other! Playing is a big thing with them and now they can play for about a half hour and then collapse and go to sleep.

If if you are inquiring about a puppy through the blog I cannot see your email address. Please email me at dlnpoconsult@gmail.com or call me at 440-273-3078. We do have a male to place in this litter as one puppy buyer dropped out.

Puppies are ready to go at eight weeks so you need to call soon and make arrangements to come and see them and their mom. I can promise that they are entertaining.

Grand Champion Foxfair Essex

Essex's First Litter

Well he waited a little bit to have his first litter, but Essex was a little unlucky in love. His first two bitches were, umhmm, lets just say "older", and had reached the end of their reproductive years. This time with the lovely Lillian "Ch. Foxfair Silent Screen Star, we have seven babies. Both parents are of course very proud. Essex and Jeanne will be coming to see them in a week or so.

Maybe we can even get pics of Mom and Dad and babies. That would be something! Their puppy party is planned for Sunday, February 17th. People will be coming from near and far, by plane and car, just to see the babies. Well that will be an exciting day!

Audrey and Jeanne Agility Video

Ch. Foxfair Audacious and Jeanne Buente Running a Qualifying Agility Run

Here is a video of Audrey powering through an agility course over the jumps. I love watching this as you can tell when she really turns on the speed. She loves agility and you can really tell in this video. Audrey is sired by Am. Can. Ch. Vandaban Wessex, Eng. Imp. Jeanne also trained her dam Emma in agility and she is a multiple title holder.

Keeshonden are very good in agility due to their high level of intelligence, quickness and ability to turn, and of course their love of food rewards! One of the first dogs of all breeds to hold the MACH title for several years in row was not a Golden Retriever or a Sheltie or a Border Collie - NO - it was Keeshond, MACH Molly, who held the MAC 17 title on her retirement.

Lillian and Essex Babies Have Arrived

A Very Proud and Happy Lillian

So, here they are seven wonderful little Keeshond babies, five little boys and two little girls. Well not soo little they were average weights for Kees puppies.

Lillian like the champ she is delivered the first six babies in a little over two hours. There were five babies in one horn and two in the other. The last one to arrive, number seven, took an additional

hour. This, of course, was meant to make me worry - no need though. The last baby was delivered in fine shape and after some suctioning perked right up.

There was some concern about Lillian as a mother, she is a rather pampered and prissy show dog, who likes to do things her own way. Still a determined perfectionist, she took these same traits into the whelping box. She had decided to have the cleanest and best cared for puppies in town. So much so that our system of a little colored nail polish to mark the puppies was useless. She just licked it off, no messy nail polish on her babies! Thank you.

Babies are now four weeks old and their mother spends less time with them, but is still very attentive about their care. When one of the babies fell between the whelping box and the wall at one week old she woke me up at 3:00 am to rescue him. Another time at 3 weeks one boy managed to climb out of the box. Again, she came to get me putting her front feet on my lap and running back to the pen. The little guy was in the middle of the floor and very insulted about being in the wrong place! The only thing is she is wondering what role Essex has in this affair, since he had his fun he has not been heard from since!
